Because it is made of waterproof and windproof material with taped main seams, rain and chilly wind will have a hard time getting at you. Only the seams in areas that are less critical for weather protection are not taped watertight. And when the weather is really at its worst, the hood can be pulled up for extra protection-and can be adjusted to make sure that it won't come into your field of vision. The cuffs can be tightened to keep out the wind and rain with the hook-and-loop fasteners. The water-repellent surface treatment adds the perfect finishing touch to this highly functional garment, as water droplets just run off the surface rather than being absorbed. This ensures that the jacket remains light. Extra layers can be worn underneath for additional warmth, making it well suited to colder days.

Entretien
Wash separately inside out. Do not use fabric softener.
Lavage
Do not tumble dry. Normal washing. Initial water temperature should not exceed 40°. "Do not dry clean; Garment may not be commercially drycleaned." Close zippers before washing. Regular ironing, steam or dry, may be performed at low setting (110°) only. Do not bleach.
