Leijonat 2019

Icepeak congratulates the entire Finnish ice hockey team on their great win!

Finland wins the 2019 Ice Hockey World Championship, beating Canada 3–1.

The Ice Hockey World Championship was held this year in Bratislava, Slovakia. Finland won its first world title in 1995, in Sweden, with its second world title also coming in Bratislava, in 2011.

Finland lost only one game in this year’s championship, against Germany. The match against the USA ended in a draw. The Finnish team’s play was extremely entertaining in every game, and provided thrilling moments and tears of joy. Throughout the tournament, the national side displayed great strength and skill both as a team and as individuals. The characteristic Finnish grittiness, sisu, could be seen in every player in every game. And to top it all, the victorious team got to sing the national anthem to celebrate their thrilling victory.
