Supplying the Finnish team members with Finnish design is a natural continuance for Luhta Sportswear Company which also outfits Finland’s Olympic team athletes in the next three Olympic Games. For Luhta Sportswear Company, the agreement with the Finnish Paralympic Committee offers a welcomed possibility to contribute to the success of Finnish Para athletes and, thus, also to increasing awareness of Para sport as a world-class sport.

“Representing Finland in one of the biggest competitions in the world and wearing Finnish clothing brand, gives a big importance to the team spirit and thus to the team’s success in PyeongChang. It is also a great pleasure that both Olympic and Paralympic teams can wear Finnish design and show it to the sport family and friends. Finnish Paralympic Team is happy to wear top quality clothes suitable for different weather conditions that are challenging athletes and other team members in PyeongChang,” notes Kimmo Mustonen, Chef de Mission of the Finnish Paralympic team.

The PyeongChang Paralympics will be held two weeks after the PyeongChang Olympic Games. More than 670 athletes will compete in six sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboard and wheelchair curling. The first Finnish athletes for the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games were named in August: Santeri Kiiveri (alpine skiing), Matti Suur-Hamari (snowboard), Sini Pyy (cross-country skiing) and Ilkka Tuomisto (cross-country skiing).

Luhta Sportswear Company is currently experiencing rapid business growth in Asia. In this market position, becoming the official clothing supplier for the Paralympic Winter Games in South Korea opens up exciting possibilities for the international Icepeak brand.
